Most sales happened at weekend markets and the online shop was an afterthought, with one photo per product and a checkout that forced you to create an account.
We shot every candle on the same warm backdrop and wrote short notes on how each one smells. Gift sets got their own page, guest checkout went in and delivery costs show before the basket.
Online sales overtook the market stall within five months, and the average order rose from £24 to £37, mostly thanks to the gift sets.
