01 / The problem

Five libraries, five logos and a website nobody on the team could update. Opening hours lived in a PDF and volunteers had to email to find out how to help.

We started with the signs on the doors. The identity uses one bold typeface and a colour for each library, so a poster from Ashmoor still looks like it belongs to Kettlewick. The site puts hours, events and a volunteer form on every library’s page, and the staff edit it all from the CMS.

The trust now runs every poster, sign and web page from one small kit. Volunteer sign-ups went from about four a month to nineteen in the first quarter.
